About
Dr Nicola Lennon (Donaghy)
I’m a freelance book indexer and editor with over a decade of experience working with top academic publishers, including:
- Oxford University Press
- Cambridge University Press
- Taylor & Francis/Routledge
- Palgrave Macmillan
- MIT Press
- Bloomsbury Academic
- John Benjamins
- Irish Academic Press
I began my publishing career as a technical editor at the Northern Ireland Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (NICCEA), before founding Index Perfect Limited in 2012. Since my first commission in 2009, I’ve indexed hundreds of academic titles, bringing a research-informed approach to every project.
I hold a PhD in Linguistics from Queen’s University Belfast, along with an MA in English Language & Linguistics (Distinction) and a BA in English & Linguistics (First Class Honours). My academic background includes awards from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), the Longman Book Prize, and the Dr Henry Hutchison-Stewart Literary Scholarship.
My expertise spans law, linguistics, politics, philosophy, and economics, as well as the broader humanities, social sciences, and select STEM fields. For examples of my work, see the portfolio section.
